Tavaro – Smart Tab Manager
Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 10, 2026
What Tavaro does
Tavaro helps users view, search, organize, save, restore, and manage open Chrome tabs and native tab groups. It runs locally as a Chrome extension.
Data Tavaro accesses
To provide its tab-management interface, Tavaro may process information Chrome supplies about currently open tabs, including titles, URLs, favicon URLs, pinned and active state, audible and muted state, sleeping/discarded state, last-accessed time, window association, and native tab-group metadata.
This information is used only for user-facing features such as search, organization, duplicate cleanup, session snapshots, restoration, window movement, and manual tab sleeping. Tavaro does not create a browsing-history database or continuously track activity.
Data Tavaro stores
Tavaro uses Chrome's local extension storage for:
- Display, filter, grouping, and sorting preferences
- Manual sleep threshold and confirmation preferences
- Exact domain names the user chooses to exclude from sleep
- Saved session names, timestamps, tab titles and URLs, pinned metadata, portable window/group relationships, and workspace names
Live Chrome tab, window, and group IDs are not stored as durable saved-session identity. Sleeping state is runtime-only.
Why the data is needed
Open-tab information is required to display and manage the user's actual Chrome tabs. Stored preferences configure Tavaro's interface. Saved session and workspace data exists only when the user explicitly creates or imports it.
Sharing, analytics, and external servers
Tavaro does not sell, rent, share, or transmit tab information, saved-session data, preferences, or excluded domains to the developer or any third party. Tavaro has no backend, account system, cloud synchronization, analytics, advertising, telemetry, or external application service.
Retention and user control
Stored data remains in Chrome's local extension storage until the user deletes it, resets the relevant preferences, uninstalls Tavaro, or clears extension data. Deleting a workspace keeps its sessions and moves them to Unfiled. Reset Tavaro Settings does not delete saved sessions or workspaces.
Export and import
Users may export saved sessions and workspaces to a local JSON file and later import it. Tavaro does not upload exported files or their contents. Users control where exported files are stored and shared.
Chrome permissions
- tabs: open-tab metadata and user-requested tab operations.
- storage: local preferences, sessions, workspaces, and sleep exclusions.
- tabGroups: Chrome native-group display and management.
Tavaro requests no host permissions and injects no scripts into websites.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide or improve Tavaro's single-purpose, user-facing tab-management functionality.
Policy changes
If Tavaro's data practices materially change, this policy will be updated before the related version is published.
